How to add an App

1. Add a new SharePoint app – Announcement list app.

1.1 Click on the Settings Gear and then select Add an app.

1.2 Scroll down and click on the Announcements icon to add an Announcement app.

1.3 Give it the name “Announcements” and select Create.

You can multiple Announcement apps in a site.  Each instance must have a unique name.

1.4 Click on the new Announcements icon to go to the new Announcement app.

1.5 Click on new announcement to add a new announcement.

1.6 Add a new announcement and then select Save.

How do you know that Title is required but Body and Expires is not?

Announcement expiration is based on Expiration field (“Expires”) and is controlled by views to show only the valid announcements.  You can also use a workflow to delete the announcement or to move it to another location (e.g., create another list that will archive expired announcements).
